Twitter developed a new app for Windows

Great news for the Windows 10 users. Microsoft users upgrading to the new Windows 10 will get an extra bonus. A decent Twitter app. Twitter presented a new universal Windows app on July 29th that finally brings out the best in the Twitter experience.

The new Twitter app includes both support for more than one photo in tweets and the ability to watch Vines, GIFs and other video formats from your timeline. It also has photo support to direct messages, a feature Twitter added to its iOS app in 2013.

This update makes Twitter one of the first organisations to make a universal Windows app available worldwide.

More than that, the app will run on all Windows 10 devices, including phones, tablets, and eventually, on Xbox One and HoloLens. It is a good sign, the fact that Twitter is developing this universal app for Microsoft, but it is still unclear how many developers will optimise their apps for the new Microsoft platform and only time will tell if this app will be relevant to its users.

Twitter’s hopes that this app will attract new users as user growth is coming under increasing scrutiny and users will be able to see a homepage with recent tweets from popular accounts without actually being logged in to their accounts.
