The new year is just around the corner and large companies in the online space are rushing to announce their 2014 updates. It seems that no one wants to leave 2013 without making an impression.
1. Instagram
This social network announced they are planning on integrating a group messaging feature into the Instagram App with speculation that this could be implemented before the clock strikes 12.
It’s not yet clear what the feature look like, but, supposedly, the user will be able to share his images with friends and/or groups of friends.
2. Facebook
Instagram’s mother company also made a changes to their messaging functions and the Messenger app was rebuilt for both iOS and Android.
The new Messenger app aims to provide a SMS-like experience for the users. They will be able to send text messages to all of their phone contacts, not just Facebook friends. This requires app-users to include their phone number.
3. Google
Voice search is not new for google. Do you remember the “OK, Glass…” commands you need to use to activate your Google Glasses? Now you can activate a Google search in Chrome by saying “OK, Google…”.
This is still in beta mode in the USA but it can be downloaded anywhere.
